RUD VIP Grade 100 Chain Sling Systems - Quality lifting chain in Pink
Since 1980 the RUD Company, a subsidiary of RUD Ketten Rieger & Dietz GmbH u. Co. KG, has been established in the United States. The RUD Company was founded in 1875 and for more than 140 years has been manufacturing high-quality chains and chain products in its factory located in Aalen, Germany. The RUD factory is regarded as one of the most modern chain producing factories in the world. RUD is ISO9001 certified and is renowned for its expertise in heat treatment methods - delivering high performance chain products to suit the most demanding industrial applications.
RUD’s grade 100 alloy round link chain systems offer an added benefit with their signature pink color chains and lifting points. RUD’s grade 100 chain, or “VIP” chain products, are made with high quality steel CrNiMo which is specially hardened and tempered to ensure that the chains have high toughness with less sensitivity to hydrogen embrittlement. RUD’s VIP chain offers extreme resistance to temperatures from -40°F (-40°C) to 392°F (200°C) offering 100% WLL at this temperature. Due to the heat treatment that RUD uses, their grade 100 chains have a 25% higher working load capacity and greater wear resistance than grade 80 chains. VIP chains are also more resistant to mechanical wear friction and therefore have a longer service life than grade 80.
The specially heat treated chain is coated with heat indicating powder coating that permanently shows the temperature to which the VIP chain has been exposed; if the chain reaches temperatures of 482°F (250°C) or above, the pink powder coating permanently changes color. When the color of the chain turns from pink to brown, it indicates that the strength of the chain has diminished and the original working load limit has decreased. VIP chain can be used up to 572°F (+300°C) at a WLL of 90%. The chain cannot be used above 760°F (380°C), because at this point the color will change to black with small bubbles. The color change to black indicates that the chain has been subjected to enough heat to compromise the integrity and strength of the chain; at this point the chain is unsafe to use and must be taken out of service.
RUD’s VIP grade 100 chain is available in sizes 4 mm (<3/16”) through 22 mm (7/8”). Every chain link is stamped with the VIP logo, and the serial batch numbers are stamped every running meter. Each chain is also stamped with H1 indicating the manufacturer’s number. Every chain and all the associated sling components in RUD’s VIP product line is 100% electromagnetically crack tested to ensure greater safety and quality.
