It's National Safety Month!
June is National Safety Month across America, and while it is a month that is dedicated to improving safety, there is no reason not to practice safety in your workplace year round. In America, an average of 11 people die every day on the job, and the global daily toll is impossible to count. While this number is relatively low compared to the past, it is still far too high.
Reasonable care for health and safety is something both companies and workers can get behind – after all, it benefits both parties to have a safe and healthy workplace. Workers can help themselves and their co-workers stay safe at work through a number of practices:
Pay attention to all safety training received, whether at workplace induction training or in refresher courses. Make sure you know the proper procedures before entering work space.
Ask for training when you are responsible for new tasks or using new equipment, and don’t be afraid to ask for supervision if you feel you need it. At the same time, be willing to supervise and correct others to keep them safe.
Always wear required personal protective equipment, and don’t be afraid to wear extra equipment or equipment above and beyond the required protective level.
Report all hazards, near misses, and all injuries regardless of severity to your supervisor. Proper reporting of incidents can highlight trouble areas and help reduce the likelihood of further incidents.
If you have safety concerns, including if you feel you are unable to do a task because it is above your skill level or comfort level, talk with experienced workers and supervisors and express your concerns.
Be proactive in encouraging safe behavior – be a mentor to young workers and help them stay abreast of safety from the start of their career. Keep an eye out for them when possible.

These are just one example of the products we make that ensure safety for our clients and their workers.
